I'm home. Back where white blankets the tops of the mountains and the plethora of sheep make disturbing hacking sounds periodically throughout the day and night. Back to a place that I loved once and will love again. Back to Kyrgyzstan.

Bad Luck

This week I have bad luck. Hopefully next week will shed a different shade of light on my life but as of now I have bad luck. And it seems to be contagious, like a cold or herpes. Since my acquisition of the bad luck it has spread, like smallpox or gangrene, to my host brother. On Tuesday, I had decorated my door with the snowflakes and a B.A.S. (big ass snowman) in preparation for winter. It took me a real long time to do and I was very proud of my snowman. It was a snowman from the states too. Then the next day some little bastard student stole all my snowflakes. I was pissed and still am. If I ever catch the little bastard that stole my snowflakes he’s gonna be wishing he hadn’t. Remember that in Kyrgyzstan, unlike in the states, capital punishment isn’t illegal.

Then Temirlan lost the only key to his room. He was climbing around outside like a monkey trying to get in his room. I thought it was a little amusing until my key refused to work. It just spins in the lock. Me and Temirlan, the girls of 9a and a plethora of teachers tried all yesterday to get in. No one could make the door budge. My backpack, with my life inside it, is in the room. I even tried to get in the windows but they wouldn’t budge either. I’m tellin’ ya. The school is like a steel trap. (Which reminds me*…) So tommorow, Saturday, the day I was supposed to go to Karakol and see Ami, the Japanese girl in Ak Suu, I’ll be fixing locks instead. Oh boy fun.

I think that’s all really bad (to make it a bad luck week) that happened this week. In retrospect, it doesn’t really sound that bad to me, and must not sound all that bad to you folks at home, but I have been away from home for the past year.

* Sometime early in the year I got locked inside the school. It was getting dark and cold. I finally yelled to someone on the street to get me the hell out of there. It sucked at the time, but looking back it was quite humourous.

Hey Tay! Sorry to hear about the theft. Since every snowflake is unique you should be able to catch the culprit (in theory anyways). :-p Here's the link I said I'd send (to look at my Japan photos, look in the Tokyo album):

Here's the link to my blog too, but it's not very exciting since I don't have time to update it that often: http://courtroomcatwalker.blogspot.com/
Thanks for calling me today it's always nice to hear from you. I miss you! Love, LB

Did you something to cause the Uyat? Because if you did something Uyat, that could be why you're having bad luck. Better luck next week (and I'll keep my eyes out for your snowflakes).
